The Lumia devices run amazingly smooth even on low end hardware with only 512 MB of RAM, thanks to Microsoft Windows 8. This speed and smoothness has allowed Nokia to create a major impact over the low-end market. The Lumia 525 mostly feels like a gradual upgrade over the Lumia 520 with the most significant upgrade being the increase in on device RAM. The higher memory will definitely expand the device’s capabilities to now run memory rich applications with ease.

Although no details on the availability and pricing have been made available on its official page, Nokia Lumia Singapore has posted the price on its FaceBook page to be SGD 249.00 that should be about USD 200 for the 8 GB variant. This is slightly expensive than the Moto G – 8 GB variant that is priced at USD 179. It is to be noted that the Lumia device however has a slot for expandable memory unlike the Moto G.

A head to head comparison of the two new devices set to hit the emerging markets shows that the Moto G clearly triumphs over the Lumia 525 in the specs race with a richer display, better battery and a front Camera. The Moto G also provides a slightly higher clocked processor. It is however known that Windows powered phones require lesser hardware to provide similar quality of experience as on Androids.  Nokia has also been able to capture a lot of fans with the Lumia 520 in the entry segment with its colourful variants and the ability to customise the phones daily with equally colourful snap on shells. Motorola has matched them in this game by making shells to add colour to your phones available as soon as the Moto G went on sale. It will be interesting to see if the Nokia Lumia 525 can triumph over the low segment Android competitor in the coming months.
