Asus had made it known last month that the Nexus 7 (2013) tablet will be available in India November 2013 onwards. There was speculation due to a report by Times of India Tech that the tablet will go on sale along with the Nexus 5 on the November 12th. Many Google Nexus fans were disappointed when the report was not accurate. The tablet has finally gone on sale from today, the 20th of November 2013 and can be purchased from the Google Play Store. The Nexus 7 (2013) has a 7.02″ 1920×1200 HD IPS display (323 ppi) with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro, 1.5GHz Quad Core Processor and a Adreno 320 GPU.
The pricing for the tablet is almost Rs. 5000 more than the the pricing of its predecessor 2012 model that did not have a rear camera.
|Nexus 7 16 GB WiFi||Rs. 20,999|
|Nexus 7 32 GB WiFi||Rs. 23,999|
|Nexus 7 32 GB LTE (Unlocked)||Rs. 27,999|
The pricing of Rs. 21,000 for the economical Nexus range tablets puts it at par with the iPad mini by Apple that is otherwise known to be a pricey brand. Flipkart has been consistently selling the Nexus range at a much lower price and have further reduced the price of the 2012 range to Rs. 8,999 after the launch of the 2013 model. It is to be seen how the prices will change when the tablet is made available through other Online retailers.
